Causes of facial spots and how to get rid of it.

Although acne does not cause health problems, it can cause anxiety and damage a person’s confidence. People with acne are embarrassed to have their faces seen. 

It is also attributed to the sun, and it is common in people who live in tropical areas, it is also associated with age and some doctors call it “age spots” because some spots appear before the skin starts to show signs of aging. 

What causes dark spot? 

The pigment in the body is called “melanin” and is produced by skin cells known as “melanocytes”. Dark spots occur when there is too much melanin in the body, which results from a defect in the skin cells. The cause of the disorder is not known but several factors can trigger it including: 

Sunlight

The rays of the sun “ultraviolet” activate the cells “melanocytes” and cause these cells to produce large amounts of material “melanin” which causes the formation of dark spots on the face. 

Pregnancy

Dark spots on the chin during pregnancy are called “chloasma” and are caused by hormonal changes, such as estrogen and progesterone, which cause the body to produce more melanin. 

Inheritance

Facial hair loss is also hereditary, and is often seen in people whose relatives have this disorder. 

Medicines

Contraceptives, anti-seizure drugs and hormonal drugs can cause skin allergies. This increases sensitivity to sunlight and leads to acne. 

Disorders of the thyroid gland

The thyroid gland produces hormones that regulate many of the body’s functions. If there is a problem with this gland, it affects the hormones, and this affects the production of the substance “melanin” and leads to dark spots on the face. 

How to treat acne naturally? 

There are home remedies that health and beauty experts say can get rid of acne without the need for a doctor or chemical treatment. These natural remedies collected by Daryeel Magazine are:  

Scar

Beetroot reduces wrinkles and gives the skin a beautiful glow. In a study of pregnant women with acne scars, it was found that 32% of acne scars were reduced after using the lotion for 5 weeks. 

Method of use: 

  • You apply the lotion to the affected areas at night before you go to bed. The next morning you wash it off with warm water. 
  • Do this every day until the blackness fades.

Lemon drink

Lemon juice is full of vitamin C, which is good for skin disorders. Lemons nourish one’s skin and are used to exfoliate the face.  
 
Method of use: 

  • Apply the lemon juice on the face where the spots are formed by gently slathering it for one minute. 
  • You leave it on for 20 minutes and then wash it off with warm water. 
  • Do this 2 times a day. 

Green tea 

Green tea leaves reduce the appearance of wrinkles as they contain substances known as “antioxidants”, which remove toxins from the body. 

Method of use: 

  • Drink 2 cups of green tea every day. 

Apple Cider Vinegar

The acid in apple cider vinegar removes traces of pigment that are left behind on the skin or when exposed to too much sunlight. 

Method of use: 

  • Dilute the vinegar with a little water and apply it to the dark spots on the face using a cotton ball, then leave it on for a few minutes before washing it off with lukewarm water. 
  • Keep this mixture out of your eyes. 

Onion Drink 

Onions contain substances that help lighten dark spots. It inhibits the function of the cells that cause the production of “melanin” to increase. 

Method of use: 

  • You grind onions into a drink. 
  • You apply the spots where the spots have formed using a cotton ball. 
  • You leave it on for 20 minutes and wash it off with warm water. 
  • Do this 2 times every day. 

Orange juice

Oranges are rich in vitamin C and citric acid, which protects the skin from UV rays. 

How to use: 

  • You dry the orange peel and then make a powder. 
  • You make a paste by mixing orange juice powder, water and honey. 
  • You apply it to the blackened areas, and you spray it for 2 minutes, then you wash it off with warm water. 
  • Repeat this process 3 to 4 times a week. 

Turmeric and milk 

Turmeric brightens the skin and reduces wrinkles and blemishes on the face. On the other hand, milk nourishes the body and brightens the dark spots. 

Method of use: 

  • You combine 5 to 6 spoons of turmeric and milk until it thickens. 
  • You apply it to the affected areas, massaging it for 5 minutes.
  • You leave it on for 20 minutes and then wash it off with warm water.
